Cleveland Tradition Will Never be Denied Cleveland Browns There was little fanfare when Art “Mickey” McBride flew into Chicago in 1945 to purchase a professional football team for Cleveland. But that act set in motion a tradition that has brought the city of Cleveland together on Sunday afternoons for (most of) the sixty years to follow. Cleveland Tradition is the story of championship seasons, legendary coaches, and Hall of Fame players. Coach Paul Brown led his teams to seven league title games in their first 17 seasons. Quarterback Otto Graham with running backs Marion Motley, Jim Brown, and Leroy Kelley each rushed over opposing defenses and straight into Canton, Ohio. |
| Licensed by The National Football League, this painting was used by the Save Our Browns Committee as a fundraising tool to help defray the cost accumulated in the effort to keep both the Browns name and colors in Cleveland. |

The painting was unveiled on the field during a live half-time presentation on CBS at the Pro Football Hall of Fame Colts vs. Saints Game on August 3rd, 1996. |

| The presentation featured Otto Graham, Dante Lavelli, Lou "The Toe" Groza, Marion Motley, Jim Brown, Leroy Kelly, and artist Ray Simon; these Hall of Fame members were those who assisted the Save Our Browns Committee in support of their cause. The painting has the official Save Our Browns logo on the print and shows former Coach Paul Brown looking at the first draft of the proposed stadium. |
