Fields of Freedom honors those who have committed or sacrificed their lives to form nations according to these eternal words: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men and women are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.” The United States was achieved at a great cost to her native souls, and the men and women of her armed forces. But as fate would prove, America’s existence served a historical turning point affecting all of humankind: Were it not for her place in time to resist menacing tyranny during World Wars I and II, the earth would now be darker and much less hopeful. As verified throughout the annals of warfare, malevolent forces will have their moments of glory. But the universe’s immutable governing power is good, and good will always right what’s wrong in the end, as surely as evil will inherently topple itself. America’s native souls were children of that greater good that watches us all. We must never forget, and always respect, the price they paid for a brighter future for humanity.

Soaring above the field of gold and the rippling reflection of the American flag, the proud and beautiful American eagle represents the ascent of the spirit made possible by liberty. Middle and top: Blended into majestic purple mountains, the breast of the American eagle stands for this nation’s industrial might and immovable will. The red glow from behind the eagle’s breast radiates our readiness to guard the great arsenal of democracy. Subtly placed background eagles circle the sky to protect the nest of an everlasting principle. The primary eagle’s marbleized eye shines with the colors of our flag and of our hearts… colors that signify our determination, our vigilance and the never-ending battle we will endure to preserve our precious freedom.
